Summary:
Genre: action/adventure/suspense/thriller
CIA-trained Cassidy Jackson is known to be a real live-wire. She's a "get to the point" type of operative who does whatever it takes to track down the most ruthless international offenders. Word is she's on loan to the FBI as a disciplinary action because she went rogue one too many times.
FBI Special Agent Jason Stayton, bit of a lone wolf, throws himself into his work and harm's way to deal with the recent loss of his wife and daughter.
What starts as an investigation into the ambush of Jackson's team in east Africa quickly turns into something so much bigger. The heat turns up when the remainder of her team starts getting picked off by unknown assassins.
These two rogues are forced to work together, which in itself proves difficult. The trail leads them to a familiar nemesis of Jackson's, and on a fast-paced chase across the country. But the lines become blurred between who exactly is chasing who.
It all finally comes down to a showdown, one that proves to be rather personal.
Ultimately, Cassidy and Jason will both learn what it means to give everything…

Author's Note
As of December 2012, the original “The Great Sacrifice” is almost six years old. This was my first published book. Although I had been writing stories for years, I was still developing as an author. Now that a few more years have passed, I hope that I have matured more as a writer.
It’s like an artist taking up a new medium. The first pieces of work are rough but as one continues to practice, technique sharpens and hones.
As I began rereading this book, it was quite apparent after the first two chapters that I was going to do a rewrite. Aside from the new title, chapter titles have been added. At the core it is the same story as the original but you come to all of the key points by a completely different route. Relationship dynamics are different, key characters have been given more depth, and you actually get to "see" why the antagonists are such nasty characters. Things flow much more smoothly and just as quick, if not quicker, than the original text. Plus, things just make more sense. It's not like you'll be rereading massive sections of text if you bought the original book. Even the ending has changed so…don't get too attached to anyone!
To those of you who are reading this for the very first time…cheers!
I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as I enjoyed rewriting it.
