Acknowledgments
After all these years, I think it’s about time to create this page. It’s for something I happened across years ago and has been a blessing to me in so many ways I cannot begin to fully explain. It’s the world of Epic Music, also known as epic trailer music. This the music that makes or breaks a movie or game. It’s the music that gives you chills, ignites your imagination, and causes new worlds to form before your eyes.
Everyone is made differently and there are those of us who need music. It’s our stress-relief and gives us momentary mental escapes from a loud and chaotic world. It helps us focus…or daydream and procrastinate on writing research papers. It helps us heal from life’s traumas.
For creative types, anything can spark an idea: a rising storm, a particular scent, a well-done movie showing perfectly the battle between good and evil, or a wonderfully composed song that touches the soul and sets the spirit on fire.
I thank God for giving man the curiosity and talent to produce this music genre. For better or worse, it has become an essential part of my life. It allows me to perspective shift when writing different story characters, keeps me focused while I think about a problem (and the endless battle between light and dark), and destress when I don’t have time to exercise (my preferred stress relief).
I know this kind of music has meant worlds to many people. I want to share this genre with others with the hope that it’ll inspire and help them as much as it has me. If the composers and groups below ever stumble across this page, I hope they’ll remember that their hard work hasn’t gone unappreciated. You’ve touched more lives than perhaps you can know.
Below isn’t an exhaustive list of composers, groups, and channels (YouTube). But if you listen to a few, you’ll be led to more. Cheers, my friends.
